Why boabab?
The village that these schools are in have hundreds of boababs in the area.
We have met with the principals from the following schools:
- Manaka Primary School
- Semetse Primary School
- Sekweritsane Primary School
We have approached these schools to commence an art project for the grade 7’s To create an art object with the theme “Baobab – Big Five” out of natural resources or recycled materials.
When these art projects are completed we will have them displayed and perhaps auctioned off, of which all proceeds will be split in to two and given to the church of Nazarene and Insimbi.
The proceeds will help the church of Nazarene to give back to their community and the proceeds given to insimbi will go into the protection of our rhino.
In return for the art project we will give the children a weekend away at a local game safari in which they will learn about conservation, Basic Fieldcraft / survival skills and wildlife monitoring.
We are looking for sponsors for these children as we would still need to cover costs such as meals, transportation and accommodation.
Insimbi Legacy Projects will be sponsoring the majority of the children that partake.
Our aim is to educate these children on the reality of poaching and why it is so important to end it and rather conserve our beautiful country.
Bringing children in direct contact with nature and conservation.
