A Long Overdue Thank You to Masslift Africa

This is a long overdue thank you to Masslift Africa for joining us last September for a Rhino Guardian Experience at Insimbi.

From the moment their team arrived, it was clear that this would be more than just a corporate getaway. It was an opportunity for connection — to nature, to conservation, and to one another.

A Culture That Shows Up

Masslift Africa is a leading provider of forklift products, services, and maintenance with an extensive footprint throughout Southern Africa. Their unique “Masslift Ninja” culture is centred on high performance, workplace transformation, and building a team of committed, empowered, and skilled individuals who collaborate to deliver exceptional service.

What stood out to us was how naturally that culture translated into the bush. Team members supported one another, encouraged one another, and embraced every challenge placed before them.

Conservation Meets Team Building

The Rhino Guardian Experience is designed to give participants a genuine glimpse into what it takes to protect rhino on the ground. During their time with us, the Masslift team took part in hands-on activities and survival exercises that required trust, resilience, and courage.

There was laughter — so much laughter — echoing through the reserve. But alongside the fun were powerful moments of growth. We watched individuals step beyond their comfort zones, overcome fears, and realise that with a little push, they were capable of far more than they imagined — not just in the bush, but in their professional and personal lives as well.

Doing something meaningful while having an absolute blast is a powerful combination. And this team embodied that balance beautifully.

The People Who Made It Possible

Experiences like these are never built by one person alone.

A heartfelt thank you to Paul for facilitating the programme with such dedication and energy. Your guidance helped create an environment where growth and teamwork could thrive.

Thank you to Ernie Landsberg for leading the shooting component with professionalism and care.

We are also grateful to Dave for delivering an insightful wildlife crime talk, helping the team understand the very real challenges faced in rhino protection and the importance of ongoing support.

And finally, thank you to the Lewthwaite family for their valuable role in guiding and supporting the programme throughout the experience.

Standing Together for Rhino

At Insimbi, we believe conservation is strongest when people step in — not just financially, but physically, emotionally, and intentionally. Hosting teams like Masslift Africa reminds us that conservation can inspire leadership, strengthen relationships, and spark personal growth.

To the entire Masslift team: thank you for your energy, your openness, your laughter, and your willingness to get involved. Your time on the ground with us contributes directly to the ongoing protection of our rhino and the work of our APU.

We are grateful to have shared this journey with you — and we hope it’s only the beginning.
