Reflecting on 2025: A Year of Protection, Community, and Hope

As we step into a new year, we pause to reflect on 2025 with full hearts and deep gratitude. đź’š
It was a year that reminded us, time and again, that conservation is never a solo journey. It is a collective effort — powered by people who care deeply about protecting our rhinos and safeguarding their future.

One of the most significant milestones of the year was the celebration of life and legacy. In 2025, we welcomed Zara, our first-ever fourth-generation calf. Her arrival was more than just a joyful moment; it was a powerful symbol of hope, resilience, and the long-term impact of committed conservation. Zara represents the future we are working so hard to protect.

At the heart of everything we do is protection. Throughout the year, our focus remained firmly on keeping our rhinos safe. From fitting state-of-the-art AI tracking collars, to standing shoulder to shoulder with our brave rangers and K9 unit, every day on the frontline was driven by vigilance, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to conservation.

2025 also showed us the true power of community. Support came in many forms — charity walks, runs, cycles, virtual challenges, and large-scale events, as well as school visits, retreats, and immersive conservation experiences. Every step taken, whether in running shoes, hiking boots, or on the sandy roads of the reserve, helped make a real and lasting difference.

We are deeply grateful to our partners and sponsors who stood with us throughout the year. This includes our 2025 calendar sponsors, corporate supporters, media partners, vehicle partners, research teams, conservation organisations, and every business that chose to align with our mission. Your support went far beyond logos — it showed up in action, presence, and a shared belief in protecting rhinos.

The year also brought opportunities for learning, research, and collaboration. We had the privilege of hosting students and researchers on the reserve, and of working alongside fellow conservationists, rangers, creatives, and storytellers who helped share both the reality and the beauty of life on the conservation frontline.

To every donor, volunteer, participant, sponsor, supporter, adopter, and friend — whether you walked, ran, donated, shared a post, attended an event, joined a retreat, or simply cheered us on from afar — thank you. Every contribution, big or small, played a role in what we achieved together. 🙏

As we move forward into a new year, we do so with gratitude, determination, and hope, knowing that together we are creating a safer future for rhinos.

💚 Here’s to a new year of protection, purpose, and continued impact.
Happy New Year from all of us at Insimbi Legacy Projects.
