October has been an action-packed month here at Insimbi beginning with our Adventure With A Cause AWAC weekend where our wonderful supporters have the once in a lifetime opportunity to see behind the scenes what it takes to keep our rhinos safe and happy.

Three days of educational and practical activities that cover topics such as tactical shooting, survival, orientation and navigation, tracking and medical techniques, we also do a full moon foot patrol and the weekend is capped off with a simulated deployment exercise that gets the blood pumping and requires guests to utilise all the knowledge and skills they have acquired over the weekend.

Our guests are facilitated by instructors who are the best in the business and leave us with a greater understanding of the difficulties that the rangers and staff face on a daily basis out in the field. Although this weekend has a serious message, our days and nights are filled with fun and laughter and we all become fast friends while completing the program together.
